Exxon-Mobil Undergraduate Scholarship is one of the most trusted scholarship scheme in Nigeria that has given many brilliant but hopeless Nigerian students hopeful chance to have opportunities to continued pursue their courses of their dreams in petrochemical, electrical, science, engineering and other related fields.
In a further note, Mobil Producing Nigeria in collaboration with Nigerian National Petroleum Commission usually reshapes academic lives of five hundred undergraduates by giving them scholarship awards. This scholarship initiative is a yearly event to students for Nigerian universities.
Before now, the scholarship awards were for one academic year, however it can be renewed to cover the period of recommended study which based on the academic records of the scholarship recipients and also on the report back on the recipients given by the institutions in which the recipients attend.
Aim Of The Scholarship
The scholarship is aimed at consolidating and complementing the efforts of Federal Government of Nigeria in the skilled training and development of world class and unbeatable manpower system in Nigerian society. It also enhances and boosts the skill sets of the recipients in order to be individually employable, self-reliant and self-sufficient. Some of the recipients of the scholarship awards have been able to prove themselves different from other students and stand themselves out among their peers.
Since inception of the scholarship programme, 60 percent of the recipients that got the scholarship awards are either studying Engineering or Geosciences related courses while 40 percent of the awards are left for business and social science related courses.
As of now, a total number of nine courses are on the ultimate consideration which is strictly merit-based and much consideration is usually given to applicants’ high academic records which determined by selection process and test. Selection process is based on Computer Based Test and the selection test is conducted in many centres across Nigeria.
What is Exxon-Mobil Scholarship?
Exxon-Mobil Scholarship is an all-school fee pay scholarship programme that gives the recipients opportunities to continue their education in which Exxon-Mobil take up the responsibilities of paying their school fees. It is meant for the first and second year students of universities with high CPGA and it’s jointly financed by Mobil Producing Nigeria (MPN) and Nigerian National Petroleum Commission (NNPC).

Applicant Eligibility
*Scholarship applicants must be Nigerians or resident in Nigeria.
*Applicants must hold SSCE certificates or equivalent that contain six subjects passes at one sitting with a minimum of five distinctions.
*Applicants must be full-time undergraduates in their first or second year in any Nigerian universities.
Applicants That Are Not Eligible
Applicants that are recipients of the likelihood scholarship awards from other oil companies or any other scholarship awards.
Families or dependents of employees of Mobil Producing Nigeria or related members of related companies or sisters’ companies.
