Admission Requirements For Western Illinois University
The University requires applicants to possess either SAT/CAT and other academic qualifications. Prospective applicants are expected to have an SAT score between 900 and 1130 or an ACT score should stand between 19 and 26. Although more than a quarter of those accepted by the institution usually have more than the aforementioned score. Applicants are also expected to possess these qualifications:
Freshman Undergraduate

Non-native Speaking Students
The University expected non-native English-speaking applicants should hand in satisfactory English proficiency scores on one of these exams: TOEFL, IELTS, ITEP, or PTE Academic. Transfer Student
The student applying for transfer must have a combined grade point average of at least 2.0 on a 4.0 grading scale for all college-level coursework done and good academic standing at the last institution attended. All marks and scores will be changed to a 4.0 grading scale.
Prospective candidates who have got less than the equivalent of 24 semester hours must also meet new student admission standards.
Non-native English-speaking transferred candidates must hand in satisfactory English proficiency scores on one of the following exams: TOEFL, IELTS, ITEP, or PTE Academic. ( By using school code 1900).
Graduate Students
For graduate applicants must have a degree comparable to a recognized U.S. bachelor’s degree.
The students must have a combined GPA of at least 2.75 on a 4.0 scale for all college courses taken, or have a 3.0 or higher GPA for the last two years of undergraduate work attempted. All marks and scores will be changed to a 4.0 grading scale. Note that some departments have a higher GPA requirement so students should learn about this from Departmental Admission Requirements.
